The Night Vision Summit this December 15th-18th at Joshua Tree, California

This December, join us at Joshua Tree for an event that will exceed your every expectation…

The Night Vision Summit is a 4-day, 3-night event that will take place at the gates of Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California.

We will be visioning in the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright buildings in the country, soaking in the winter sun and the desert stars.

It’s the perfect backdrop for a Peak Visionary Experience.

But what do I mean by “Night Vision”?

Well, we’re taking a cue from The Coming Winter to address the darkness…

Why is it that most Visions are blurry and ill-formed?

Why is it that even the clear ones never see The Light of Day?

What are we all doing, constantly, under the surface to get in our own way?

The Momentum Lab Core Team (Matt, Nate and myself) has spent a lot of time going deep into these topics.

The answers involve Precision, Realism, Belief, and Community.

They span the internal and external realms.

They are inextricable from how we relate to ourselves, and how we relate to each other.

At the Night Vision Summit, we’re going to shine a light on every possible block and hindrance.

Every possible source of:

Darkness,

Distraction,

and

Despair…

So of course you’ll leave with crystal clear goals for 2023.

But that’s just table stakes.

What we really want is for you to leave with crystal clarity about The Night.

That means:

  • A personal roadmap of exactly what obstacles are blocking you,
  • A library of tools and mental models for how to overcome them,
  • An early-warning system to help you respond BEFORE you are derailed.

Part of our basic philosophy at Momentum Lab is to equip every person with a Roadmap tailored to their strengths, their values, and their dreams.

Night Vision is like that personalized Roadmap, but INVERTED.

With the Roadmap, you know exactly where you’re going.

With Night Vision, you know exactly how to hop over all the pitfalls between Here and There.

Because that’s what keeps happening, right?

We come up with goals. We work hard to achieve them. We even pivot when it feels right.

But OBSTACLES are another story.

Especially the unexpected ones.

Which is why we’re going to share a suite of techniques for Finding and Defusing obstacles.

And this will require some real courage.

Because we’re going beyond Optimism and Positivity.

We’ll integrate all the faults we know we have. But not in the old Shame ’n Guilt cocktail style… nobody needs more of that.

We’ll build awareness of how our strengths ARE our weaknesses, how our voids ARE our values.

Which will allow us to see – and prepare for – the shadows we cast.

If you ever wonder…

How do I recover when I’m  knocked off course?

What do I do when I’ve lost my sense of direction?

Or I can’t even remember what it was in the first place?

…then this Summit is for you.

Some of our most powerful moments as a team have come out of these questions.

And we’ve distilled those answers into an approach that will transform how you coach yourself…

24 hours a day

7 days a week

365 days a year.

This is how I see the summit unfolding:

  1. You share your vision in the protected space of small groups
  2. We help you identify your most powerful (and habitual?) blocks
  3. I compile a master list of all the blocks in the room
  4. Nate, Matt and I address the blocks, one-by-one, with the relevant tools, practices, and mental models
  5. Nate, Matt and I present the Early Warning System approach
  6. We guide you to combine all the elements in a personalized system that works for you.

Make no mistake: This is not just about identifying and removing blocks while we’re in Joshua Tree.

It’s about learning how to identify and remove those blocks from here on out.

But of course, the Night Vision Summit is not just about the content.

We all know the power of the life-changing connections only possible at a live event.

And we all also know how the power of Peak Experiences fade over time – whether they are dance parties, psychedelic medicine journeys, or once-in-a-lifetime vacations.

Our Vision Summits ground the power of the Peak Experience into our daily and weekly practice of growth and accountability. So the insights and breakthroughs keep on giving…

day after day,

week after week,

quarter after quarter,

year after year.

We do this by starting at the ground level and working up.

From the moment you arrive at the retreat, you will enjoy:

  • A private room in a gorgeous desert retreat center to support your rest and relaxation. The center includes 160 acres with walking trails, a labyrinth, hot and cool pools, amphitheater, and outdoor yoga areas.
  • Delicious, nutritious food hand-crafted by the center’s private chef.
  • Guided hikes through the desert to experience the world famous Joshua Trees by day and the incredible desert stars by night.

Beyond physical comfort, we’re creating a container for deep emotional safety:

  • I’ll shower you with poetry, music, and oxytocin-inducing hugs.
  • Nate will lead morning meditations for the early risers, to center and ground each day.
  • We’ll establish a culture of empathy and inclusion, so each one of us has a deep experience of feeling seen, heard, and honored.
  • If you have any questions, concerns, or needs at any point during The Summit, we’ll be on hand to support you 1:1 with whatever you need so you can fully immerse yourself in the practices, workshops, and conversations.
  • You’ll be invited to share your authentic self – your smile, your wisdom, your brilliance – with everyone else in the safe space we’ll create together at the retreat.

As we establish emotional safety, we’ll turn our focus to learning and connecting:

  • You’ll get exclusive live insights into the frontier of Matt’s thinking on the interaction between goals and hindrances, vision and darkness. His teaching will continue to revolutionize the role of Vision and Consistency in our lives.
  • You’ll inhabit a community based on knowing and sharing our highest aspirations.
  • Get ready for me to dissolve your layers of subtle armoring, shyness, or social anxiety so you can effortlessly leap into a field of love, connection, and fun.
  • We’ll transform our relationships with others by practicing compassion with ourselves.
  • We’ll embark on a real, physical, adventure so challenging that we’ll only be able to survive it by working together – and we’ll arrive back at our center exhausted and awe-inspired.
  • You’ll leave with a deep sense of clarity about the role the year 2023 could play in your life. And you’ll know exactly what you intend to create, enjoy, and achieve next year.

Finally, once we’re deeply rooted in Comfort, Safety, and Connection…

We’ll face the Night together, map the Darkness with eyes wide open, and explore how this community can support your journey in the weeks and months to come.

It’s a tall order.

In order to hit that goal we’re going to need, as Uncle Jamal would say:

“Knowledge of the tongue”

AND

“Knowledge of the heart”.

So we’ll be stimulating you intellectually while holding your heart open to connection the entire time.

The course content and workshops are going to be transformative. You’ll get tools, frameworks, and mental models to use for years to come.

But the real reason to go is the magic we can only create when together.

It’s an intimate event with limited attendance (20-30 people).

I scoured the Southwest until I found a center that matched the vibe we’re going to bring. I even changed the initial dates because I was so inspired by the center’s location, architecture, and menu.

After having my heart blown wide open at the last retreat I organized (in June), I committed to creating more opportunities for real-life transformative connection. If you’ve never attended one of my events, you’re in for a hell of a treat. I have 25 years of experience creating deep in-person connections at a level most people have never encountered – faster than they would have ever believed.

And that’s exactly what we’re going to do. Together.

So how much does it cost?

FAQ

Q: Where is the Night Vision Summit being held?

A: We will be at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center (https://jtrcc.org) in Joshua Tree, California, in the desert 36 miles North of Palm Springs. The closest airport is in Palm Springs (PSP)

Q: What are the dates of the retreat? What time will things start and end?

A: The retreat will open at 4pm on Thursday December 15th, and close at 2pm on Sunday December 18th.

Q: How do I get to the center?

A: If you fly to Palm Springs (PSP) between 10am and 4pm on Thursday December 15th, we will line up a shuttle to take you to the retreat center (and then back to your flight on Sunday).

If you fly in somewhere else (or are driving), you are responsible for your own transport to the center. The address is:

59700 Twentynine Palms Highway

Joshua Tree, CA 92252

Q: Is there a discount for sharing a room with my spouse?

A: Yes!

Many of the rooms accommodate 2 people. If you would like to bring your spouse (or best friend) and share a room with them, you are more than welcome to do so. In that case, the total charge for the couple would be $4,200 instead of $5,000. Use the promo code SPOUSE to get that special rate.

Q: Why isn’t the retreat in Colorado?

A: I also wish it were more central.

But we were looking for an area that would be reasonably warm and have a low chance of winter storms for our December dates.

It’s not perfectly central, but I’ve found Joshua Tree to be an amazing December destination.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: All-in, the total cost is $2,500.

That includes your private room, all meals from dinner on Thursday through lunch on Sunday, transport to and from the retreat center, and the special snacks and treats we will provide.

Your only additional expense is getting to Palm Springs.

Q: What’s the cancellation policy?

A: We understand the future is hard to know and impossible to control. If you need to cancel post-registration, we have no desire for you to pay for a life-changing event you cannot attend.

We offer a full refund if you need to cancel and let us know before October 15th. After that, our best option is to “swap” out your spot for somebody on the waitlist and give you a refund. If that’s not possible, we will not be able to offer a full refund, but will work with you to give you a partial refund, discount on a future event, or another similarly creative solution.

Q: Do I need to apply today?

A: Yes, especially if today is the day you want to sign up and guarantee your spot at the retreat.
